Water comes in many different colors. Oceans, lakes, and rivers can have vastly different spectral qualities depending on lighting, water flow, sediment, biological activity, and mineral composition. Rivers in particular are highly variable as the flow rate changes through time - flooding carries sediment that turns the water chocolate brown, moderate flows allow for richer and deeper colors, and lower flows allow for aquatic life to bloom and sunlight to reflect off the river bottom
